Pardon the quick trip in to Star Trek Fan Boy territory but it’s the one statement that keeps jumping in to my head every time that I meet with a potential new customer for MYOB Advanced and I get to show them how the MYOB Advanced Business solution can help address their particular challenges and functional needs.
In Australia and New Zealand MYOB is a household name with 10’s of 100’s of small businesses entrusting their day to day accounting needs to an MYOB solution and 1000’s of accounting practices managing their practices with an MYOB Accountants solution.
But when people think of MYOB, they think of that heritage of serving small businesses with products like AccountRight, Premier and Essentials and many are not aware that theres a new kid on the block – MYOB Advanced.
Available purely for cloud deployment and built on the very latest in web technologies MYOB Advanced is more than just a cloud version of the traditional MYOB solutions.
It takes MYOB well and truly in to the mid enterprise space with a set of business functionality that allows it to play in the same league as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and other vendors that have focused on the upper mid size business space with solutions like Dynamics GP, Dynamics AX, SAP All-In-One and SAP Business One.
I am speaking from experience here as well, as a result of working at Microsoft in the Dynamics Product team as well as 11 years at SAP working in the SME team – primarily with SAP Business One but also with SAP All-In-One and SAP Business ByDesign.
Plus I spent the last 18 months living in Seattle, Washington and working at Acumatica as VP, Partner Strategy and Enablement. Acumatica is the product that MYOB Advanced is built on, a rich application and development framework used by 1000’s of SME’s in the US, Europe and Asia.
Over the next series of blog posts and videos, I want to drill down in to some of those core areas where MYOB Advanced functionality really shines and I will focus on showing you the business processes that MYOB Advanced handles and how adaptable it is to meet your requirements…as simple as you want or as complex as you need!
Stay tuned – in my next post I will cover an area that’s critical for so many Australian businesses that manage inventory both locally sourced and imported – Landed Cost.
